Abstract:
The aim of this study is to analyze the evolution of the insertion of migrants and non-migrants in the labor market of the Central West region between 2000 and 2010. Based on data from the Demographic Census, we present descriptive statistics and use the Heckman procedure to explain the impact of being a migrant on employment and on labor income. We verified that migrants are positively selected, have a higher probability of employment and have higher income. Also, results show that there is a positive evolution of migrant selection over time
