Abstract: Given the wide range of activities that make up agribusiness, dairy farming plays an important role and given the small capacity of resource mobilization by small farmers located in less wealthy regions, such as the micro-region of Imperatriz, in the In the southern region of Maranhão, it is possible that hundreds of establishments have been rendered unfeasible, considering the low adherence of cattle ranchers to established standards. The objective of the present work is to analyze the factors determining the adhesion of dairy farms in the region to official standards.
