Abstract: The features of the structure of the Ukrainian mineral resource base, the issues of intensity using and valuation in a global context are distinguished. The reasons of insufficient demand for the investment potential connected with the mineral resource objects are analyzed. The goals of economic evaluation the mineral deposits in accordance with criteria of market economy. Geological survey’s goals in the formation the new quality of mineral resources are determined.
