Abstract: The article deals with the structure of the natural resource sector as a complex ecological-economic system. It is founded institutional, financial and technical problems of its development in the transition to market economy. It is grounded priorities of market transformation of natural resource areas in the region. The content the main components of market transformation of the natural resource sector of the region: the reform of property relations in the use of natural resources, modern organizational forms of business and improving of financial and economic regulation of natural resources.
