Abstract: The article deals with the main requirements lodged to the mechanism of choice of effective ways of production competitiveness improvement. Recommendations of using a taxonomic method in estimation of integral characteristic of production competitiveness were given as well. It using fully improves the objectivity of comparative estimates of the given latent index. The criterial method was given. It characterizes economic efficiency of measures taken to improve the production competitiveness in full. Given index allows to rank worked out measures strictly according to the level of decrease of their economic efficiency and to form an optimal program of improvement of production competitiveness at the enterprises.
