Abstract:
This article presents a retrospective analysis of the evolution of households from 30s years, that are especially significantly transformed in the process of agrarian and land reforms, and their role in providing food security of Ukraine. The differentiation of households by scale of land use and implementation functions in growing food raw materials for domestic consumption and for commodity production are revealed. Systematized problems and challenges encountered at this stage in the process of globalization and European integration aspirations of Ukraine, developed proposals to minimize and overcome their negative effects, and scale-up and diversify agricultural production based on international experience. Exposed trends, methods, forms of management and types of product specialization, which should be implemented and actively used to enhance the participation of households to meet consumer needs for quality and safe agricultural raw materials and food products.
