Institutional basis to increase the forest area and forested areas: ukrainian reality

Abstract: The article deals with the formation of institutional basis to increase the forest area and forested areas. The expediency to implement required institutional changes as regards motivating local authorities and agricultural businesses to afforestation of certain categories of farming lands is grounded. The main trends in the dynamics of agricultural lands areas, forest area and forested areas as well as changes in the structure of the Land Fund of Ukraine.
