Abstract: In the article the topicality of green rural tourism development in Ukraine and the key challenges have been discovered. The system of indicators assessing economic activity of green rural tourism enterprises has been developed. The key indices showing how rural households produced and supplied tourist services in Ukraine and its regions during 2012-2013 have been presented. The recommendations on how to overcome theoretical and methodological difficulties related to green rural tourism researches have been suggested and relevant administrative measures and economic instruments have been elaborated.
