Development of the energy sector of Azerbaijan

Ilham Eminbeyli

Ukrainian Journal Ekonomist, 2016, issue 7, 16-18

Abstract: The stages of establishment of oil industry in Azerbaijan have been analysed in the article. The dynamics of field's development has been provided, the forecast indicators and main projects have been suggested. Despite the fact that the state holds considerable reserves of oil and gas, it took a path of using alternative fuels without waiting for traditional fuels to exhaust. The author has proven the importance of development of alternative energy forms under the conditions of world's economy dependence upon traditional energy forms, namely oil. This dependency caused "black gold" to be used as rather efficient pressure leverage and means of manipulation on the global stage.
