Abstract: One of the major problems of the national economic policy at the present stage of development in terms of restructuring the economy and overcoming the crisis is to ensure the effective functioning of the railway transport of Ukraine being one of priority areas of the national economy. Rail transport is the basis of the transport system of Ukraine, the main and sometimes the only means of transport, effectuating mass transportation of goods and passengers.
