Abstract: In the world of microelectronics and genetic engineering. it is unnecessary to belabor the importance of science and technology for the economy. Innovation is critical not only for those who wish to accelerate or sustain the rate of economic growth, but also for those who are appalled by narrow preoccupation with the quantity of goods and wish to change the direction of economic advancement or improvement in the quality of life. It is crucial to consider the long-term conservation of resources and improvement of the environment in the formulation of the economic planning of a nation. The prevention of most forms of pollution and the economic recycling of waste products alike, requires advanced technology.
