Abstract: lbe manufacturing sector has grown creditably since Malaysiaembarked on active industrialization in the late 1960s. One of the key detenninants of Malaysia’s successful industrial and economic growth has been the country ‘s quick response in introducing new initiatives to keep pace with the changing domestic as well as global environment. The Government has been constantly reviewing the industrialization strategies and programs although the objectives of industrialization have basically remained unchanged, of which are to diversify our economic base and increase OUf national income, to generate employment opportunities and to bring about an equitable distribution of wealth.
