Abstract: The objective of this study is to identify the factors that influence the supply and demand of exports in the aggregate manufacturing sector, electrical, electronic and machinery sector, and the textile and clothing sector. In carrying out this study, the relevant data used are from 1987(1) to 1992(1). The results of the estimation shows that production capacity and the cost of imported inputs are found to be significant in influencing the supply of the exports in both the equilibrium and disequilibrium models in the aggregate manufacturing sector. The wage rate is only found to be significant in influencing the supply of exports in the disequilibrium model. On the other hand. in the electrical, electronic and machinery sector, the supply of exports is only affected by the production capacity and the cost of imported inputs both in the equilibrium and disequilibrium models. In the long run, the price of exports is only influenced by the price of foreign countries, whereas in the short run, it is affected by the demand for the exports, the exchange rate and lagged export price. The findings in the textile and clothing sector show a slight variation, that is only the production capacity is found to be significant in affecting the supply of exports in the long run. In the short run, the relative export price and the lagged supply of exports are found to be significant in influencing the current supply of exports. On the demand side, the exchange rate, foreign export price and the export demand are found to be significant in affecting the price of exports.
