Abstract:
Without neglecting the benefits that the process of globalization of economies and societies can deliver, there are undeniable weaknesses that had contributed to create greater gaps between rich and poor countries. Many firms, in their eagerness to increase value, abuse of their workers in different contexts, such as their communities and environment. Considering all this elements, it is more prevalent and inevitable to demand a more socially responsible corporate behavior, specially when this is the interest and concern of major international agencies. The objective of this paper is to show the vicissitudes of globalization that comes from enterprises and the role that social responsibility can fulfill to reduce its negative impact.
