Abstract: Competitiveness is a key issue in manufacturing businesses and can mean the blossoming, survival or extinction of an organization. The aim of this research is to describe the problems of competitiveness from industry in Merida state, Venezuela, which hinders the placement of their products nationally and internationally. The analysis is about the main issues of competitiveness. The findings shed industries have difficulties Merida state in terms of supply chain, barriers to potential rivals and penetrate capital in the sector. This would result in lower competitiveness by the Merida industry.
