Abstract:
The public budget is the government’s main tool for managing a country’s economic resources to ensure social equity, macroeconomic stability and the efficient allocation of goods and services in the market failures. The persistence of inequalities among the population reflects the need for countries to implement public budgets with a gender perspective. In Venezuela, the total opacity of the national budget makes this proposal more relevant because of its dual purpose: to reduce gender gaps and improve governance indicators. This research seeks to present a methodological proposal to promote a public budget with a gender perspective in Venezuela, considering the experience of other Latin American countries.
