Abstract:
The first impact of devaluation on the argentine agroindustrial sector has not been that predicted by theory. A high foreign exchange rate suppose higher exports of commodities and agroindustrial products but this didn't happen. The hypothesis in this work is that the better competitive price situation derived from this political decision has been overriden by other issues that explain agroindustrial exports decline during 2002. In order to found evidence we use different instruments (indexes and ratios) to analyse changes in the competitive situation and also in the evolution of the domestic market
