Abstract:
Improving efficiency is the main purpose of conditioning access to high education.. However it is usually suspected that this strategy can diminish access possibilities for those who belong to lower socio-economic strata. Based on the analysis of the performance, in the levelling course, of three cohorts of Public Accountant students in a public university, and by means of the estimation of an ordered logit model, some conclusions could be obtained about diminished probability of the students of public schools, whose parents have reached low educational levels, in successfully entering university
