A QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS OF GREEK INNOVATION ACTIVITIES

George Halkos and Christos Kitsos

Journal of Applied Economic Sciences, 2011, vol. 6, issue 1(15)/ Spring 2011, 16-27

Abstract: This paper analyses the framework, the obstacles, the determinant factors and furthermore the role of female in the Greek entrepreneurship. Apart of presenting the empirical results relying on the analysis of the data collected by the survey we performed to the Greek enterprises, we use the collected variables in an econometric formulation adopting the logistic regression. So we are extracting the associated probabilities (Relative Risks) for implementing innovations. Specifically we find that the odds of implementing innovations are much higher for firms having an increase of more than 10% of its turnover and for firms having exportations and higher for firms having a higher average life of product as well as a high percentage of female workers.
