Abstract:
The valuation of private equity investments brings with it special challenges; despite this fact, such interim appraisals are needed: investors in private equity funds require transparent information from the managers. These Guidelines are therefore focussed on Fair Value for financial reporting purposes. The term "private equity" is used in the Guidelines in a broad sense to include Investments in early stage ventures, management buyouts, management buy-ins, infrastructure, mezzanine capital and similar transactions and growth or development capital.
