Abstract:
First of its kind, this analysis targets the asset valuation market in Romania, starting with the first valuation activity reports submitted in 2008 by ANEVAR members. The methodology rests on the analysis of ANEVAR data base including the annual activity reports submitted by the members of the Association, both natural and legal persons. The members’ activity is expressed in terms of number of valuation reports and turnover, both broken down by valuation purposes and valuation specializations. The available data, accrued between 2008 and 2020, are analyzed in order to detect the effects of the economic crisis of 2008 and those of the sanitary crisis – still ongoing – on valuation activity. In spite of the two economic crises, the observed general trend is one of increasing of the valuation market in Romania, which enables us to forecast that this trend will continue in the near future, unless legislation in Romania is subject to drastic amendments, regarding building taxation, for instance.
