Economy of Francesco: From Initiative to Action

Abstract: "Our "dominion" over the universe should be understood more properly in the sense of responsible stewardship" (Laudato Si’, III, 116). Applied to all aspects of our economic activity, the principle of responsible stewardship is a guiding principle for the Economy of Francesco commitments. It is a principle that most of us find easy to agree upon. The challenge, however, is how to get from where we are today to an economy that is just, sustainable, and fair. In this article, I discuss potential concrete actions each of us can take to contribute to choosing the right path. Lasting change is not likely to come from the top but from our individual actions.
