STANDARDIZATION VERSUS INNOVATION IN MANAGEMENT CONSULTANCY

Tudor Ciumara ()

Studii Financiare (Financial Studies), 2011, vol. 15, issue 4, 145-156

Abstract: This paper is supported by the Sectoral Operational Programme Human Resources Development (SOP HRD), financed from the European Social Fund and by the Romanian Government under the contract number SOP HRD/89/1.5/S/62988. In this paper we propose some perspectives on the relationship between standardization and innovation in the management consulting business. Most of the consulting services are situated somewhere between absolute standardization and absolute innovation. Approaching any of these poles brings some advantages and disadvantages, both to the service providers and to their customers. It is important to find a balance between innovation and standardization to maximize the results of all agents involved.
