Abstract: Scientific research based on unequivocal statistical data has reported that the tendency to deplete natural resources, correlated with population growth and the effects of pollution, lead mankind to an uncertain future. This article aims to investigate how the collaborative economy can contribute to the achievement of sustainable development objectives in Romania, while highlighting the benefits it can generate in the economy. The hypothesis from which this article starts and which it aims to confirm is that the development of the collaborative economy will lead, on the one hand, to a reduction in the pollution of the environment and, on the other hand, to a more efficient use of natural resources.
