Income Distribution, Productive Structure and Growth in South America

Abstract:
Between 2003 and 2012, South American economies experienced a period of relatively high growth rates. That performance was accompanied by considerable improvements in income distribution and poverty indicators. Nonetheless, structural heterogeneity remained one of the central characteristics of these economies. The aim of this paper is to analyze the role income distribution and the productive structure played in the economic growth of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela, for the period between 1990 and 2012. Između 2003. i 2012. godine, južno američke ekonomije su iskusile period relativno visokih stopa rasta. Te performanse su bile propraćene značajnim poboljšanjima u raspodeli dohotka i indikatorima siromaštva. Ipak, strukturna heterogenost je ostala jedna od centralnih karakteristika ovih ekonomija. Cilj ovo grada je da se analizira koju ulogu igra raspodela dohotka i struktura produktivnosti u ekonomskom rastu u Argentini, Brazilu, Čileu, Kolumbiji, Peruu, Urugvaju i Venecueli, za period između 1990. i 2012. godine. Ključne reči: privredni rast, Južna Amerika, distribucija dohotka, strukturne promene.
