Abstract: An important component in assessing the role of sustainable tourism is determining its economic, environmental, cultural and social impact in the designated area. The recognition of impacts that tourism causes in destination areas is a crucial parameter in the decision-making process for tourism. This process is essential so that tourism's sustainability in a destination area will be ensured. This study uses a matrix of indicators to examine the economic effects of tourism in a Varna municipality. The matrix provides a systematic framework for synthesizing and displaying the data on a regional tourism industry and estimating his regional economic multiplier in terms of sustainable development.
