Abstract: Prevention and planning are the most effective steps any organization should take to ensure its preparedness to deal with various types of crises. The communication plan is only one element of these steps, which is a key factor in maintaining the internal and external reputation of the organization. Its preparation requires an investment of considerable time and resources. It is not intended to answer all the questions that may arise for the organization in a crisis or to provide all the solutions, but it sets the framework for response and the persons responsible for communication. A communication plan provides an effective response to crises only if it is regularly tested, evaluated and updated. The purpose of this article is to present the features, components and importance of the crisis communication plan, paying special attention to the parties interested in the crisis.
