Subsidizing Bulgarian Agriculture in the Context of the EU CAP - Trends and Economic Effects

Abstract: The aim of the article is to assess the level, dynamics and tendencies of subsidizing Bulgarian agriculture and to take into account its impact on the development of agricultural holdings. Given the different forms of subsidization, the article focuses on support for agriculture resulting from the implementation of the EU CAP's mechanisms and measures. A comparative analysis of the level of support in the different countries is made using the OECD benchmarks "support level" and "subsidy structure". The state of support in Bulgarian agriculture for the period 2009-2016, the degree of absorption of the funds and the economic effects for the farms are considered.
