Abstract: Breeding cows is traditional subsector of agriculture and breeding for meat production can be promising for Bulgarian conditions. This is due to that the half of consumption of beef in the country is covered by imports and problems at small and medium-sized dairy farms with new regulations in the sector. Although beef is with better nutritional value than other popular meats, there are low levels of consummation because of it’s with limited supplying and high prices. The aim of the study is to present a theoretical model of pricing in meat cattle and on that base to analyze the sector and to find reserves for optimization that process.
