Role of Innovations for Logistics' Sustainability

Abstract: This article examines the role of innovation in logistics development. Today, more than ever, an interdisciplinary approach to logistics study brings new challenges to its effectiveness and sustainability. Innovation is a factor for improving the efficiency of logistics. Thus, the expectations are that between innovations and logistics processes flow positive and synergistic relationship. Based on concrete examples, the author of this article aims to show that in short term period the role of innovations is crucial for competitiveness in the logistics sector.
