Trends in the Development of Open Source Software Platforms for the Creation of Online Stores

Abstract:
In order to meet the expectations of consumers and the businesses, open source software platforms for the creation of online shops are constantly being improved. The article analyzes the most popular software solutions of this kind in order to highlight the main trends in their development. The following ones have been analyzed: Magento Open Source, PrestaShop, OpenCart, Zen Cart, Drupal Commrece, Spree Commerce, WooCommerce, Jigoshop, Virtue mart, Ubercart and osCommerce. Systems improvement has been established in terms of functionality, content management capabilities, customer orientation, marketing tools, and integration with other enterprise applications.
