Abstract:
The report examines the impact of contrademocracy processes on the opportunities for recovery of eroded social capital, both in principle and in particular in the former socialist countries. It is concluded that all three main forms of contrademocracy, the supervisory authorities; dissuasive forms and judicial scrutiny not only help to restore confidence in society but also contribute to its institutionalization and the restoration of collectivism and civic engagement of individuals
