Abstract:
The paper presents the current state of the old debate on inequality efficiency trade-off. It points out that income inequality is the most important economic and social problem of modern society. It is argued that the link between inequality and efficiency is non-linear and there are limits within which it is possible to reduce inequality without influence on efficiency. Beyond these borders tradeoff exists. The choice depends on the society values and preferences.
