Abstract:
Despite the rising interest towards the problem of income inequality in recent years, the literature on the distributional impact of financial development is still nascent and ambiguous. The article reviews the existing theoretical and empirical research on the relationship between financial development and income inequality and tries to highlight the achievements and the challenges in this research area.
