Abstract: The report examines the structural change in the consumption expenditure in aging populations. Based on the life-cycle theory of income, consumption and savings, hypotheses are formulated, which are verified by empirical research. Measurement of structural changes is done through two approaches. The relative share of the change from the maximum possible change is also measured.
