Dynamics and Cyclical Fluctuations of the Average Gross Salary in Bulgaria

Abstract:
This report explores the dynamics of the average gross salary of employees in the public and private sectors and in total for Bulgarian economy. Spectral analysis is applied to detect cyclical fluctuations in the research time series. The results from the survey show, that there is a difference in the rate of salary increases in the public and in the private sectors. There are seasonal and cyclical fluctuations. The local maximum of the periodic component of the research time series corresponds to a wavelength of 104 months.
