Abstract:
The study examines the effects of equipment and construction investments on economic growth in Bulgaria over the period 1970-2015. Using cointegration analysis, the study indicates a significant role of equipment and construction investment for the long-run growth in Bulgaria. The results show that the positive impact of equipment investment on GDP is twice as much as the effect of investment in construction. Therefore, within its stated scope, this study suggests that a suitable policy should be implemented to accelerate equipment and construction investments and hence sustainable economic growth in Bulgaria.
