Abstract: The report provides an opportunity to apply mediation as an alternative way of resolving disputes and conflicts in the field of ecology and environmental protection. A detailed analysis of the legal framework was performed, as well as of good practices applied in the countries of the European Union and the USA. is to draw attention to all the growing needs for adaptation, development and improvement of mediation in the field of ecology and environmental protection. To increase public information and trust in ADR methods. Promoting the possibility of involving civil society organizations in the mediation process. Improving administration, public information and efficiency in resolving disputes through mediation. Strengthening the role and potential of mediators in the field of ecology and environmental protection.
