AGRIBUSINESS AND RURAL AREAS - ECONOMY, INNOVATION AND GROWTH, 2025, issue 1, 340-348

Abstract: The continuous growth of the planet's population raises a number of issues, one of which is ensuring sufficient resources to feed people. At the same time, a significant amount of food waste is being generated globally, highlighting the need for a change in everyones habits in order to achieve efficient and effective use of resources in this area. Building a sustainable food system would contribute to ensuring the necessary food security without compromising the ability to provide food for future generations. The purpose of this article is to analyze the actions taken and the results achieved so far in Bulgaria with regard to addressing food waste in the context of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
