Abstract:
The world is in a period of transformation and adaptation to a changing environment. We live in an era of depleting resources, a changing climate, and an increasing need for energy and food production for a growing global population. Never has the role of land, agriculture and technology been more important than now, when we have to choose what to produce with limited resources - food or energy in various forms. In this complex environment, appropriate decisions today can be successful outcomes tomorrow. It is at times like these that cooperation and collective effort can bring about that synergistic effect that will ensure the much desired sustainability of the economy, agriculture and society as a whole.
