Abstract: Competition is one of the main factors influencing strategic, tactical and operational business decisions nowadays. The theory of competitiveness has been developing steadily since the 1980s to the present day, attracting the attention of scientists and experts from around the world. This paper aims to develop and test a model for evaluating the competitive structure of the aviation industry in Bulgaria and to summarize some conclusions about the development of the industry in the country based on the results of the model. It should be noted that the proposed model is based on the popular five forces model of M. Porter, but is further developed and adapted for the Bulgarian aviation industry.
