Abstract: Varna Region, being one of the twenty-eight districts of the country,actively participates in various projects for operational andnon-operational programs of the European Union. In line with this, the purpose of this report is to identify which programs have the highestactivity in the district and why, and also to identify the economicand social effects on farmers in the district as a result of financingtheir rural development program projects. The investigation usesmethods such as analysis of the averages, deduction, induction, and a comparative analysis as a result of the participation of themunicipalities of Varna district under certainprograms with projectsfor the period 2014-2018. Several in-depth interviews were conductedwith farmers in the area who applied for a rural development program.The report clarifies the exact economic and social effects of thedevelopment of agricultural and non-agricultural activities in theanalyzedarea.
