Abstract: The report outlines trends and highlights problems related to the quantitative and structural dimensions of food production in agriculture and the food industry, considered as an important source for the formation of Bulgaria's food resources. Parameters are evaluated and critical moments and issues concentrated in the relationship are outlined- ensuring the needs of the population with basic food, mainly from products of national origin, which characterize food self-sufficiency as a reliable basis for the country's food security.
