 GREEN PUBLIC PROCUREMENT IN BULGARIA -OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGESEconomic Science, education and the real economy: Development and interactions in the digital age, 2020, issue 1, 645-656 Abstract: The article justifies the perception of green public procurement as a set of policies, actions and relationships with environmental contexts that emerge and shape the market for green products and services. The purpose of this study is to analyze the state of the green public procurement market in Bulgaria, to clarify the difficulties that contracting authorities (or assignors) most often encounter in the use of environmentally friendly criteria in public procurement, as well as to identify the main risks and challenges to the development of this market in the country. It is concluded that the Bulgarian market is at an early stage of development, has a dualistic character in terms of product affiliation and its main participants are the municipalities.
