Abstract: This report aims to examine the link between sustainable development, happiness and business using as examples sustainable maritime transport and sustainable tourism. The tasks we have set ourselves are to: review and analyze scientific publications on issues related to sustainable development, happiness, sustainable tourism and maritime transport, to summarize their characteristics and to describe the links between sustainable development, happiness and sustainable business and to highlight differences in the perception of happiness in the context of sustainable development in the two industries. The subject of study are scientific publications published in refereed and indexed journals and databases. Reports, analyzes of IMO, UNWTO, SDSG and others are also reviewed and analyzed. The methods that have been used to gather empirical information are: content analysis, analysis and synthesis.
