Michal Stojanov

Conferences of the department "Economics and Management of Trade", 2023, issue 1, 245-253

Abstract: The main focus of the present work is placed on the theoretical summary of the nature and components of the Digital Intensity Index, which can be used to analyse the reached level of digitization of enterprises in general for the EU-27 and for individual Member States. For this purpose, the methods of descriptive and comparative analysis are applied in the paper. The main results indicate the delay of the Bulgarian economic units in the adaptation of digital technologies and innovations. Possible directions have been outlined to help catch up and increase digital intensity in the conditions of the New Economy.
