Abstract: Nowadays, the conceptions of cities cultural heritage are dynamically changing – their content, their territorial scope, their temporal boundaries and their social and economic functions are expanding. The cultural heritage and its protection are part of the public and professional debate for the development of the modern city and its future, for the inscription of history in the modern interpretations of the urban structure and spaces. Taking into account the risks associated with the encroachment on cultural and historical monuments of various kinds requires the creation of plans and programs for their protection, including from terrorist actions. The protection of cultural heritage using counter-terrorism is the focus of this research.
