The article formulates the concept of the potential of construction organizations economic development, as a characteristic of the capacity and the ability to implement qualitative changes in production and management systems. The classification of the main types of the potential of economic development is proposed, as well as methods of their measurement are recommended. In accordance with the existing problems in construction and strategic infrastructure goals in Russia, the "potential of administrative transformation in construction" is proposed for research.
