Abstract:
All of the current accumulating problems – economic, social, political – are deepening rather than receiving their adequate management solutions. The reactions of senior managers leading the national and supranational processes are in most cases chaotic, contradictory and ineffective. The obvious problems facing leadership and the unsatisfactory results faced by groups, unions and societies cannot be ignored. Objectively, questions arise about the expediency, meaning and the supposed benefits of having leaders. In the publication I have stated and identified main economic trends, cause-and-effect relationships have been established (especially for the Central and Eastern European countries). Some aspects of the activities of European leaders at the highest management level are presented. Observations are reflected on the „logic†of forming national leaders, as well as the discrepancies between public expectations and actual achievements.
