Abstract: The first pillar of the National Plan for Reconstruction and Sustainable Development Innovative Bulgaria is focused in the fields of education, digital skill, innovation and interaction between them. In this pillar the main requirements are related to the new approach in the higher education with a view to building an effective relation between education – science – business. That is the reason in the European strategy for university are included among the goals: creating more efficient and environmentally friendly higher education, innovation, and the tasks of digital transformation. The rapport analyses the state of higher education after pandemic and highlights the problems in building skills for work in the conditions of digital transformation and sustainable development.
